Functional Cupping
Decompression therapy that lifts and eases tight tissue to aid recovery.
What it is
Functional cupping uses gentle suction to lift and decompress tight muscle and fascia — the opposite of pressing down. It helps ease tension, improve circulation and speed recovery, and is often combined with movement for a truly functional effect.
Soft cups are applied to the affected area, sometimes while you move through gentle ranges of motion to release restriction where you actually need it. It can leave temporary circular marks — these are not bruises and usually fade within a few days.

Common reasons people choose functional cupping
Functional cupping questions
Do the round marks mean I have been bruised?
No. The temporary circular marks come from drawing blood flow to the surface, not from impact. They are painless and typically fade within a few days.
Does cupping hurt?
Most people find it relieving rather than painful — it feels like a gentle pulling or stretching of the tissue.
How is it different from massage?
Massage compresses tissue downward, while cupping lifts and decompresses it. The two work well together for stubborn tension.
