Dr Janine Riksman
Chiropractor · Acupuncturist · Clinical Pilates

Dr Janine Riksman

Janine graduated with Honours in the inaugural chiropractic class from Murdoch University in 2006, taking home the Dux of Chiropractic Award, the Shirleigh Winter Award for Academic Excellence, and a University Medal. She went on to do postgraduate research in lower back pain, and in 2008 opened Jandakot Chiropractic Clinic — where she's been building the practice ever since.

Janine is also a registered acupuncturist, holding a Master's degree in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. With 20 years of chiropractic experience and 12 years as an acupuncturist, she is also certified in Clinical Pilates. She uses these disciplines together when the situation calls for it. Her particular interests are lower back and pelvic pain, headaches, neck and jaw pain, and women's health — and she's drawn to complex cases that haven't responded to what's been tried before.

Dr Katie Ridderhof
Chiropractor

Dr Katie Ridderhof

Katie is known for getting people active and moving again. She asks good questions, listens carefully, and has a way of making appointments feel less clinical than they probably should — something patients who've been putting off coming in tend to notice straight away. She graduated from Murdoch University in 2013 and was awarded the Marcia Cerutty Award for clinical excellence.

She works across all ages and has a particular interest in hypermobility, including how it presents across different patients and its overlap with neurodivergence. Her clinical approach combines Diversified manual care, dry needling, soft tissue therapy, and low-force techniques. She works with firm pressure as her default but reads each patient carefully and adapts accordingly. She ensures every treatment plan is individualised — shaped around the person in front of her, not a standard approach.

Dr Kristal Zhang
Chiropractor

Dr Kristal Zhang

Raised in Singapore and trained at Murdoch University (graduated 2014), Kristal was drawn to chiropractic by its whole-person philosophy — and she's stayed because of what it can actually do. Her measure of a good appointment is a simple one: the patient leaves and goes back to doing something they'd stopped being able to do.

She draws from a broad toolkit — manual adjustments, drop-piece, SOT blocks, the Activator, dry needling, functional cupping, and soft tissue therapies including trigger point and myofascial release. She always walks patients through what she's doing and why, making her particularly well-suited to those who've been nervous about coming in. She has a particular focus on older patients and those managing long-term chronic pain.

Our approach

We listen first, treat second.

Every new patient appointment starts with a thorough history and assessment — because understanding what's happening in your life is just as important as what's happening in your spine.

We'll explain what we find in plain English, discuss your options honestly, and only begin treatment when you're comfortable and informed. If chiropractic isn't right for your situation, we'll tell you — and help you find someone who can.
